My Background

I am a passionate advocate for high caliber, learner-driven, and integrated learning experiences. To be at the top of the profession, there is a need to be both creativity and analytical. I am both analytical and creative, proudly and work hard at wrapping my brain around my projects.

As a professional multimedia-web designer and developer, I have been working in the industry for over 10 years but was introduced to the industry in 1996. From September 1996 through May 2000 as a Website Designer for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, I designed and developed administrative sites for multi-tiered engineering departments.

However, in February 2007, I retired my position at Ford Motor Company after 17 years as an Engineering Technologist to pursue a degree in Web Interactive Media Design. I relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada and forged ahead with my degree at the Art Institute of Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada. Freelancing also kept me busy on various projects which included emailing promo marketing, graphic, and web design for local businesses, entertainers and corporate real estate developers. Also, I was employed through the Art Institute of Las Vegas as Teacher Assist in Portfolio Predatory classes for students.

In the fall of 2009 returned to Michigan to finish my education. Pursuing experience, I accepted an unpaid internship from January 2009 to May 2009 with CBS Television Detroit which allowed me to further hone my multimedia skills as a Digital Media Producer, where I was tasked in a capacity with daily design, writing, editing web diaries of station events, creating web graphics, web posting updates and maintaining a personal “hockey themed” blog on the CBS local affiliate website. I also assisted the graphic designers and staff with a variety of print-related projects and presentation materials.

In December 2010 I received my BA in Web Interactive Media Design from The Art Institute of Michigan where I graduated with Alpha Beta Kappa honors.

Since graduating, I have has designed for clients including, U.S. Army, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank and Honda Canada where I worked with teams in various integrated media campaigns where my duties have included; project management, web/graphics design, video/audio editing, search engine optimization (SEO), content management, E-mail marketing and more.

Presently, I have been engaging on techniques for progressive enhancement on technologies that are guaranteed to make websites, graphics or other media assets more aesthetically pleasing and easier to use. Hence, the use of HTML 5 coding for this portfolio site.

Since my introduction to the industry in 1996, I have worked with individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations. For sample projects, please head back to the portfolio page. Yes, I’m also a proud veteran, too! U.S. Air Force!
